The Global Inferno is Everywhere

I read in a recent issue of SKI that banks in Europe and the U.S. will not give loans to ski areas that are below 5000 feet. This recent financing restriction is a direct result of global warming. Its mind blowing that the fears of global warming are percolating into all aspects of society.
Ask Bob how global warming is changing the sex industry.

Yeah, I was really disgusted to see my beloved Sports Illustrated getting in on the global warming issue. They had a big [cover] story about all the coastal stadiums that will be under water by some predicted date. They also speculated about the famous catch by Willie Mays in the 1954 World Series and if he would have caught it with the change in average temperature, etc. Global warming is changing our lives... if not in extreme temperatures, then by having to read about it everywhere.

This is the same politics of fear that the Democrats are using liket he Republicans are using terrorism. The terrorists are going to get you...we, the mighty republicans are going to save you... The environment is being destroyed...we're all going to die...the mighty democrats are going to save you... These issues have existed and always will...it is just the politics of politcs trying to get votes...

I find the current interest in global warming interesting because it is an illustration of the importance of agendas with regards to public policies. But I am also not too concerned with the outcome of this debate because the politicians will just move on as soon as they have passed some sort of legislation that is supposed to solve the apparent global warming problem. Since politicians rely on quick fixes for incumbency and election, I don't think any "solution" will really be a solution. So I agree, it is just the politics of politicians trying to get votes.
